Laine Ballard is the Sole Proprietor of Tax Treatment. After receiving her MFA in Writing & Consciousness, studying the craft of poetry, Laine decided to become a Certified Registered Tax Preparer (CRTP).
While tax preparation and creative writing don’t typically go hand-in-hand, Laine has always aspired & excelled equally in left-and-right-brained pursuits. She began tax preparation with the vision to bring her mathematical skills and penchant for deciphering the tax code to those creatives for whom only one brain hemisphere is dominant. Laine is nourished by those she works for, and she strives to provide her clients & clients’ files with care, accuracy, attention and exactitude.
While Laine’s practice specializes in self-employment, she also prepares just about any type of individual tax return. She is familiar with the filing requirements for RDP couples living in community property states (such as California), can help married couples looking to file separately for income-based student loan repayment loan plans, and works with lots of therapists, photographers, designers, artists, writers, and academics. She also provides tax preparation to Single-member LLCs. She is not taking any Partnership, Corporate or non-profit returns at this time.
