Laine Ballard is the Sole Proprietor of Tax Treatment. After receiving her MFA in Writing & Consciousness, studying the craft of Poetry, Laine decided to become a Certified Registered Tax Preparer (CRTP).
While tax preparation and the study of writing & consciousness don’t typically go hand-in-hand, Laine has always excelled equally in left-and-right-brained pursuits. She began tax preparation with the vision to bring her mathematical skills and penchant for deciphering the tax code to those creatives for whom only one brain hemisphere is dominant.
Laine loves numbers much the way she loves words. Your tax return will receive the same care, accuracy, and attention to detail that Laine provides the words of a poem.
While Laine’s practice specializes in self-employment, she also prepares just about any type of individual tax return. She is familiar with the filing requirements for RDP couples living in community property states (such as California), can help married couples looking to file separately for income-based student loan repayment loan plans, and works with lots of therapists, photographers, designers, artists, writers, and academic researchers. She also provides tax preparation to Single-member LLCs. She is not taking any Partnership, Corporate or non-profit returns at this time.
